The Home Visitation Ministry is deeply rooted in the belief of cohesiveness founded in our Catholic faith of Social Teaching which stresses that we are our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers. We are one body, a family in Christ. Therefore, it is our Christian duty to go out and be God’s representatives; not only in word but in deed. 

In September of 2014 the Home Visitation Ministry of St. Patrick’s was born to primarily reach out to our inactive brothers and sisters and bring them back into the fold.

We are warned in scripture by Jesus in Ezekiel 33:7-9, “. . . . . . If I tell the wicked man that he shall surely die, and you do not speak out to dissuade the wicked man from his way, he (the wicked man) shall die for his guilt, but I will hold you responsible for his death. But if you warn the wicked man, trying to turn him from his way, he shall die for his guilt, but you shall save yourself.”

Since its inception the Home Visitation Ministry has been a ministry of communication, not evangelization. It is a welcoming ministry, opening the doors of Christ through visitation in a personable loving way.

As such, we reconnect with our in-active brothers and sisters, update parish records, answer questions about the parish, inform them about church events, invite them to mass, and discover needs that are not being met. Additionally, we pray asking our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to guide them and touch their hearts so that they welcome Him into their lives.



In conclusion, the reason for Home Visits is to see the body of Christ come alive in the word of God and effectively work in the hearts, minds, and souls of its members every day.
